THE SEASON OF THE THRESHING FLOOR
Week before last I was asking the Lord why Noami (a Type of the Holy Spirit), directed Ruth to the Threshing Floor to seek Boaz. I remember a while back the Lord gave me a WORD, ‘The king is in the Field’. Naomi knew where (the field) was that Ruth could find Her Kingsman Redeemer’.
The next step in Ruth’s Process was, THE THRESHING FLOOR’. I was beginning to see that there was more than her finding, ‘The King in His Field’, before Ruths redemption and destiny could be found. I sense the Threshing Floor was where Ruth learned humility, and obedience at the feet of Boaz. Her posture at his feet was also a show of her love. She questioned not the ‘process’. We know the rest of the story.
I began looking at the spiritual significance of the ‘Threshing Floor’.
1) The threshing floor is one of the most important aspects of the story of Ruth and Boaz and is also important to modern-day Christians. It emphasizes that there is a need for us to have a redeemer and that we can easily reach out to Him as long as we acknowledge our need.
2) It was also a place of intimate relationship, ‘intercourse’, in the Old Testament.
The threshing floor was a place associated with sexual congress, both licit and illicit. In Hosea 9:1, YHWH declares: ‘Do not rejoice, O Israel, with joy like other peoples, For you have played the harlot against your God. You have made love for hire on every threshing floor.’
3) In Matthew 3:1-12, John invoked a sense of urgency among the Israelites to let them know that Jesus was on the threshing floor. He wanted to let them know everything they knew was about to change. Jesus was on the threshing floor and He was about to separate the good from the bad.
4) Araunah (Hebrew: אֲרַוְנָה ʾǍrawnā) was a Jebusite mentioned in the Second Book of Samuel, who owned the threshing floor on Mount Moriah which David purchased and used as the site for assembling an altar to God.
According to the Bible, Solomon's Temple was built on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, where an angel of God had appeared to David (2 Chronicles 3:1). The site was originally a threshing floor David had purchased from Araunah the Jebusite (2 Samuel 24:18–25; 2 Chronicles 3:1).
Other meanings:
5) Generosity
Offerings from the threshing floor, or "first fruits", are a symbol of the faithful's dedication to God's cause. In Numbers 18:25-30, Moses says that the best part of a tithe should be considered "the product of the threshing floor".
6) Judgment
The threshing floor is also used as a symbol of judgment. For example, Hosea prophesied that Israel would be scattered like chaff from a threshing floor, and Jeremiah described the Babylonians' fate as being like trampled sheaves on a threshing floor.
7) Worship
The threshing process itself is a metaphor for sanctification and a picture of worship. The threshing floor is a place where God's provision is revealed, and people are responsible for cooperating with the process and honoring God with the bounty.
8) Exile
In Isaiah 21, the threshing sledge is used as a metaphor for Israel's exile, with the grain being torn up underneath the sledge representing the difficult time they were
What kind of tools are used at the Threshing Floor?
The "threshing sledge" is the most common type. As its name indicates, it is dragged over the ripe grain, and it threshes using cutting pieces made of stone or metal.
The Bible says, “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies it produces much fruit”
There is sweet fellowship in the intimacy of sufferings with God! I believe it is a fragrance in His nostrils. I think the perspective of us should be when we face these times, that something good is coming, if embraced. Certainly not the usual paradigm. Romans says all things WILL work for good! We should be excited for the possibilities instead of full of dread. Do we really believe GOD knows what is best for us?
We can see from all of this, the “Threshing ‘Floor IS a significant place, and also a place of possible brokenness!
WORD:
My children many of you are in a season of the ‘Threshing Floor’. What it means for each of you is individual. As you have sought and found me in ‘My Field’, now it is time for ‘Threshing Floor’. I am also in this. It is part of this NECESSARY process. All the earth is now in a Threshing season, and you will hear the groanings coming from the Threshing floor, especially my church.
It is also a season of CHOICES! Many are at a juncture in their journeys! This season is PIVITOL to your destiny! Choose correctly! As you stand at your crossroads, look to the ‘ancient paths’, there you will find your peace and rest.
What will come out from this is the best of the best. Those that are carriers of my Glory, will be perfected for their end time destinies. Those that will be trusted with my Resurrection Power, to do those Greater things than these, they will do for MY Glory, greater than I did Myself when I was here on earth.
Not becuase of what they have done, but because of what they were preordained to do, to fulfill my purposes. If you weary not in well doing, you will reap, in due season! Seek me for the significance of this “THRESHING “SEASON in your life! Do not be afraid of it, I am in it! My GRACE is upon you in this season, to endure. Do not question it! I am El Shaddai, the Mighty Breasted One’. But for the Glory set before me, I endured My cross. SO shall you, the Glory of the fulfillment of your Divine Purpose in ME. You shall come out as GOLD. Is the servant greater than the Master, No!
As you perceive the evil around you, know that there were those selected also to fulfilled destiny so that light can shine in the darkness, and my Glory can be revealed in brilliance. Stay focused on your own journey. I have all in my control. We are moving in a direction and transition from the Kingdom here on earth, to the Kingdom of Heaven, your permanent destination.
Embrace the threshing floor, I am there waiting for you. I will do as I did in the ancient days, I will build “your tabernacle” on this floor. This sifting and pain, is the is the platform to your ministry. Embrace it, with Praise and thank me!
Expect great things! I love you,
Your Ishi
Romans 9 16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
17 For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”[j] 18 So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen. NLV
